Episode 158 The Diary of an Emotional Eater: Stop fighting food

I’ve missed you all. Things have been crazy, and I’ve been getting a lot of things done, which is going to impact you, which I will tell you about as we go along.
I’m in the shower in the mornings and God just gives me thoughts about we are going to talk about for the day. I work a lot around belief, and actually I have a group that I’ve been running called the ‘The Hundred Day Challenge’ and in there I just wrote ‘How is Your Belief?’ I realized for years, being an Emotional Eater and chronically being overweight anywhere from 20 to almost 100 pounds. I can’t believe that happened, but it was about 80 pounds but still a lot for me.
What happens, especially in the whole diet fail cycle, you start to believe that it’s not going to happen for you. You get your hopes up but at the same time, not really, because it’s not worked...
I was checking in this morning in a coach accountability group that I'm apart of, it is a great group where coaches support one another. One of the coaches said her goal today was to show up. She is coming back from having a baby and if you’ve ever been there you vacillate between wanting to snuggle all day and wanting your life back. But my response struck my heart as to why I do what I do.
“We all have people that are counting on us to show up because it gives them the courage to show up. They have people counting on them too. One long line of each other grabbing a hand helping the other to the next level!”
That was it! I show up every day to help YOU show up in your best way because there are tons of people counting on you too!
I’m not sure about you but I have struggled at times to just show up. Yeah, you saw my face but my heart… my heart was on the couch, or in the bed...
Good morning. How are you? My name is Tammy Marshall. I’m the creator of The UnEmotional Eater Protocol. We’re going to talk about ‘Resistance’ and I don’t know why but that’s the hot topic now in my world, Resistance.
Sometime recently I said something about ‘whatever you resist, persists’. It’s a law. We work within laws, like the law of gravity; the law of lift and thrust is greater than the law of gravity. It utilizes the law of gravity in order to lift and thrust, but the law is true. If you drop an apple, the apple is going to fall to the ground every time but the same is true for resistance. Whatever we come up against then something is going to push up against us right back.
The law of resistance shows up in lots of different areas of our lives. I am going to challenge you today - we never really take inventory or realize that is what we are doing, that we are resisting. I’m going to ask you to start to take inventory...

I just want to talk about something; it's one of my heart breaks. I see women all the time and I've done it too, if you've heard anything about my story; this isn't something I read about in a book and thought it was a good idea. This is something that I've walked out. When people are emotional eaters, a lot of times they get caught up in why.
• Why do I eat like that?
• Why did I do that?
• Why did I eat that food again?
• Why did I fall off the wagon?
• Why, why, why, why, why, why?
It’s because the mind has this obsessive idea that it’s going to be able to figure that out and solve that problem. I just want to tell you, it's not logical. To try to solve it with logic, it's just futile. All you do is, you're just a dog chasing your tail, because you're trying to figure out why. It's not an ounce of logic.
